Cricket coaching for Kids in full swing

This Saturday saw another successful session of Cricket Coaching in Seychelles organised by the Seychelles Cricket Association (SCA) at the Perseverance cricket ground. This is part of the ongoing kids cricket development program being undertaken by the SCA. The coaching session saw the participation of more than 50 children of different age groups and was facilitated by certified ICC Coach  Mr. Patrick Thomas and supported by Coach Nadisha, Coach Krishan, Coach Vijesh, Coach Sudan, Coach Samith and Coach Jeevan. The SCA provided the kits necessary for the kids to play on the day. The kids were split into different groups such as Under 8, under 12, boys under 15 and girls under 15. The Coaching was customised based on the groups.  The younger kids used the soft ball and plastic bats and the main aim was to encourage them to develop an interest for the sport and learn beginner level basics of cricket. While for the older kids the aim was to help them develop their skills further and also impart to them  an understanding of how to respect a sport and to inculcate a sense of discipline within them to understand the work ethic that is necessary to perform well in a sport.     SCA would like to take this opportunity to thank our sponsors Grocers for the juice packets provided to the kids during the Coaching Session.
